There are 4 restaurants nearby: Glenview Pie Cafe (open until 5pm), Columba 1400, The Kilmartin Restaurant and Flodigarry Hotel. All highly recommended for their excellent food. There are 2 shops nearby: Staffin Stores, a mini supermarket owned by the Community and The Village Shop, both very well stocked for all your needs, the village shop also serves a variety of home cooked takeaway food.

This part of the island has the most spectacular scenery as it is along the coast. The sun rises over Gairloch across the water and sets over the Western Isles which can be seen from Staffin Beach or Duntulm. If you are very lucky and depending on the time of year you can also see the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis.  Lachie's House is an ideal base for walking, there's The Old Man of Storr, Quiraing Mountain, Trotternish Ridge, Rubha Hunish and Brothers Point and much more.

There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen, including sea eagles. Dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks are often in the waters around this area. If you are lucky you may even spot the pod of Orca whales which have been around Skye in recent months. Take a walk to the fossil beach, visit the healing loch, walk along the shore to Staffin Beach, enjoy the bird life or even take a day tour to Uist or Harris from the ferry port of Uig, 8 miles from here. Whatever you prefer to do while you are on holiday there is something for everyone and we are always here to help you make the most of your stay. If you need any advice on where to go or what to do we would be happy to help you.
